CF Hoods

Can a carbon fiber hood be painted? I wouldnt mind the loss of weight but i dont really like the look of 2 different colors on my dsm... can they be painted? its got that shiney outer coating so i dunno if it would adhere to it?

how much does the Stock hood Weigh???? I dont think there is much diffrence. if ## REALLY worried about weight, look for a fiberglass hood. I dont think its a good idea to paint a CF hood.

1. To much of a pain
2. Whats the point, if ## not going to show it off.
3. CF Doesnt mean Rice, its REALLY in the eye of the beholder.

CF is a REALLY good for Weight savings. I say dont paint it and Sport it proudly.

I've seen CF hoods painted lightly and you can still see the weave texture through the paint. Pretty sexy IMO, but personaly, i'ld just use the straight up CF look, the only colors i don't think it would look that great with is green or maroon. Black, silver, white, red, yeloow, etc all look great with it.

Stock hoods weigh somewhere in the 45# range.. my OEM-style CF hood was 12#s in the box.
