I want to hear from anyone who is using this setup.

I am not concerened with comparing the tien ss with any other shock/spring setup, I am just hoping to hear from someone who has some tien SS's.

I have an oportunity to get a set of these tiens for a really good price so I am am hoping to hear some positive feed back.

Thanks,
Greg

If you got them, What do you think? How do they ride? Is the adjustablity helpful?

I heard that the pillowball mounts make the ride a little harsh. Is this true?

Now that I think about it, is there a place that has reviews of this that I can read through?

I only found one, here : www.dsmreviews.com

I like my Tein SS setup and I've had no problems with it whatsoever. The ride can get a bit harsh at time but I cannot comment on the pillowball issue as the SS do no come with them, type FLEX does or you can order them seperate. Overall the adjustability is helpful both in rideheight/dampening force and I definately recommend these over any spring/shock setup.

Devicex,

Cool, thats good news. I asked about the mounts cause it sounds like I am getting those too with this deal.

The mounts must be purchased seperately for the SS but they are included in the FLEX package.

Ok, my tien ss dampers showed up today. This may be a stupid question, but I heard that I dont need a camber kits with these pillowball mounts. Is that true?

Humm, that isn't very helpful... But I think I understand the confusion.

I called around and I think I figured out what is going on. I believe that there are 2 types of pillow ball mounts, one with camber adjustment and one without.

So, I am guessing that I have the plates without camber adjustment since they are obviously not adjustable. So, now I am confused again. Assuming I am right about all this, should I sell my current pillow ball mounts and buy the ones with camber adjustment? OR Buy the specialties products camber kits?

Would anybody even buy those upper mounts?

The only kind of upper mounts that have a camber adjustment are for cars with a McPhearson strut setup in the front (like a 1G DSM). They look like this:

If you have a 2G, they have an unequal length control arm something or other front suspension, and I don't believe there are any upper mounts that come with any type of camber adjustment. Your only choices are an eccentric bolt/bushing in the upper control arm (like the SP kit), or an adjustable ball joint.

Also, whether or not you need a camber kit depends on the following:

-how low you set your ride height
-how your particular vehicle responds to the lowering
-how much negative camber you're willing to put up with (auto-x guys will get the camber kits to get MORE negative camber in the front on a DSM. Toe is your main concern as far a tire wear goes, but negative camber will kill te inside edge quicker).

Thank you for the informative post. I guess I need to go get some camber kits from SP.

So I am to understand that there are NO camber plates for the 2G??
