Best tire profile for a 1G with 17" rims?

I am looking to replace my tires with some that will fill the wheel well a lot better, with more sidewall as well. Any suggestions on what would fit perfectly?

205/40 is to small. Go 215/45 or 225/40

You will have to go about 1-2 inches lowe to make it look right

Because the threads get so tangled, I'm learning more about 1Gs than I ever wanted!

So the only difference between 1Gs and 2Gs is the suggested offset? 2Gs put their 245/40/17s on +40s, while 1Gs put the same tires on +30s. Is that right?
