i have a 92' gs clipse. the drivers side rear tire has some really bad camber and is killin my tires. it doesn't look like there is anyway of adjusting it. what would be the best way to fixed this, if i can't adjust it. Has anyone one else had this similar problem.

thanks,
nate~

Buddy...LOL! I guess girls can be buddies too...
Oh yeah, i forgot...they only make front camber kits for the 1g. I must be thinking of the AWD, not the FWD. I have seen someplace where someone did it the DIY way, but I didn't pay much attention since I have a 2g...I'll try to find it again and post a link to it.

BTW, how bad IS your camber? I'm just wondering, because mine is off since I lowered it, but it seems to look much worse than the readings show when I checked the alignment.

i would say pretty bad it's killin my tires. like maybe riding on 1in. of tire. my car is completely stock suspension too. so i don't know i think that vfaq is for a awd or somethin my rear end doesn't look like that at all.

There is no way to adjust it. You bent your beam axle somehow. Clip a curb? It takes a good hit to bend that.

Usually, when you clip a curb with the FWD models it will bend the panhard bar bracket. It's the bracket that is located on the pass-side (body mounted) that has a lateral bar running from it to the axle. I speak from experience on that one.

Clip something hard enough and you've got a bent beam axle.

Start shopping. I had 4 of them lying around, but I just cut them up to use the axles/hubs to make some car dollies. Sorry, I'd of sold you one.

No camber kit? Why is that not a shock to me... Actually they DO make a camber kit for 1gs. Taboo, Whiteline, and Ingus (that isn't right but its something like that). Do a little more research. I just got the Taboo kit and I really like how well its put together.

Reread the ENTIRE thread. Three words: 1G; Fwd; Rear.

Knowing that, does your post make much sense?

there should be something like a spacer, or an adjustable offset insert that can adjust the rear toe/camber on cars with a solid rear suspension. We used the ring on an old trecel, that if rotated right, it will increase/decrease camber and toe and it offsets the hub. there should be something like that for a 1g though

I understand the concept you are referring to, but these are a stub axle welded to a beam. Identical to a trailer axle. Do they adjust camber on a trailer?

bear with me cause i dont have a 1st gen. What are the wheel studs bolted/or pressed into. it Should be a hub that should be removable right? that Camber/Toe ring should go in between the "dummy axle" and the hub. Im pretty sure thats where the camber/toe would be adjusted at for cars with these types of suspension. Any changes on the "trailing arms" or the lateral rod would affect the cars thrust line and that would cause a whold bunch of problems

I don't recall seeing a ring in the assembly. I've got stub axle/hub I cut off an 1G axle assembly out in the shop. I'll see if I can get some pics tommarrow of it.

There are no adjustments for fore/aft in the trailing arms. Likewise for the panhard bar. No slotted mount holes or cam bolts.

The ring isnt part of the suspension, its an aftermarket method of adjusting camber/toe because on the rear suspesion of the 1st gen fwds there are no factory adjustments for camber or toe. Thats what the ring is for.
