Possible "Big Brake" swap question.

I was just outside looking over my parts car. I noticed the brakes on it and and then compared them to the brakes on my Talon. My parts car is a 90 Laser RS-Turbo and my Talon came from the factory as a non-turbo.

The brakes on the Laser are noticably bigger, but I've been reading that the bigger 2-piston calipers didn't come on DSMs until the 93AWD. Is it possible for a 90 Laser to have them? Or are they just a bigger single piston unit?

If it would be a worthwhile swap then I'll go at it today, but if not I'll just go to NAPA and buy two 93AWD Calipers and rotors. But the ones on my parts car look to be in great shape and I'd rather save the $120(already priced the calipers/rotors from NAPA).

Based on what's in the manuals the NA and Turbo FWD should have the same single piston front caliper and rotor size. Do you know how to identify the dual piston calipers? It's possible someone upgraded the parts car to Big Brakes during it's life but it wouldn't have come with them

If it has the dual piston calipers, by all means swap them over.

well i have a 91 laser n/t and i put big brakes on it........because i plan on turboing so it could be true
are the rotors bigger and the calipers 2 piston?

ok, they have been identified as single piston calipers. however the rotor and caliper are still physically bigger. I'll try and get some comparison pics up either later today or tomorrow.

aem does make a bigger rotor kit.....but i'm not sure if it's available for the single piston caliper..........
could be a custom job????
