Hey,
i have a 2g FWD, i will be putting on GR2's because they blew but have warranty. I want to lower the car some, not too much but just so it looks aggresive, i'll be on he stock 16 swirlies too.

Can i lower the car with these shocks let's say 1.5" ??
What combination of these shocks and springs are good?
Should i just cut the stock spring 1.5"?

Thanks

I would not install anything with too much spring rate thats for sure.....
Gr-2s valving is very soft much like stock. So picking a really low spring
that has alot of rate will make the car bouncy.......:thumbdown

I cut the stock springs on my AWD one coil, and that lowered the car about 1-1.5". Still rides good, but it's a little harsher than stock (I have a set of GR2's paired with them). It gave the car more of an aggressive stance (when I had 16"s on) and it looks good, although I think you'd be better off buying H&R Sport Springs rather than going with the po'boy cut OE springs (There's an unpleasant amt. of bodyroll on long sweepers. Cutting the springs also messes up your spring rates). Unless you really need the money. :p

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE SPORTLINES WITH Gr2's. THose springs slam your car especially on a 2g and the Gr2's will blow out quicker than shit. Look in my gallery I use H&R sport springs whih don't give a big drop at all. It's lowers it 1.7 in the front and 1.4 in the rear. I give a nice aggressive look. You can also go with the Eibach Prokit but i'm not a huge fanof Eibach due to there enormous saging issue. Prokits claim a 1.4 drop all around which in the end comes out to around 2 after the sagging and bouncing. I'm very happy witht the Gr2's with my springs. Just keep away from big drops.

I have had Eibach Prokits on my civic si, delsol VTEC, and now my Eclipse and was wondering where this "enormous saging issue" came from? I know about 6 other people with pro kits on their cars and they would like to know also. I guess most people just live with this enormous sagging issue because Eibach Prokits are the best selling aftermarket spring in the world. I looked at the H&R springs but why get a poor man's Eibach Prokit when you can get the real thing. I hate guys that try to bash good products just because they have to justify why they have the competitors version.:thumbdown

Well i guess if you once owned a civic si and a del sol vtec you don't know much of anything. Just because they are best selling doesn't mean they are good. Damn you are one of those autozone boys aren't you? APC is one of the best selling brands too, you know why b/c they make your car look fast. I ahev to admit prokits looks nice on cars but yes they do sag through time and they dont handle as good as many other springs. i know this through experience. A great friend of mine owned a car shop that specialized in hondas and dsm's. He told me over and over to stay away from eibach's b/c they do sag. The sportlines more than anything. He even proved it to me with several friends of mine who have eibachs. The best springs to get for our cars are either suspension techniques or sprint. They handle the best H&R which is a superior company campared to Eibach. Shit i could have gotten the pro-kit for cheaper but i wanted something, that not every damn honda lover has on his slammed ride.

-Peace-

There is a difference between word of mouth and experience young lad. If you believed everything you were told, I have a great deal for you at ebay. Since I owned a couple of Hondas and have had three cars with Eibach springs, I don't know anything? I guess the fact that 70% of all rally cars use Eibach springs means that they no nothing also? Your so called "experience" is a friend that owns a business said Eibach springs sag because he probably got a better deal from H&R than Eibach. I've seen this so many times. Shops push the items where they make the highest margins. It's called sales. I have a buddy that owns a shop also and he can get me H&R's cheaper too. I'm not saying that H&R's are crap, I prefer Eibach's because of my positive experiences with their product. Don't believe everything you hear sonny boy.

Oh and make up your mind. First you said the prokits sag, then you said it was the "sportlines more than anything" that sag.

You have your head so far up your ass you have no idea what your talkign about!. First i said all eiabchs sag. Second of all my buddy never sold H&r. He told me to go with sprint or suspension technique. Third of all it's not word of mouth it expereince. Your just a dumbass. He would put sportlines on eclipses all the time, they looked sweet as hell. then a month later when we saw the car again we asked if he changed the springs b/c it was ALOT lower than before. But they were than same old sagging eibachs. They give such a shitty bouncy ride even with 5 ways. (experience) THey sag alot from when you first puthtem on. (expereince) So SONNY BOY?????? what you got to say now. I don't even care.........................................

arguing over the internet is retarded boys. stop it now.

key point to the thread. gr2's are great on stock springs, but anything with much more strength will kill them in a heartbeat. gr2's are essentially just stock replacement shocks for our cars.

edit* 4 year old sportlines here, no sagging whatsoever.

I just wanted to say that I have had an eibach pro kit on my car for over two years and it never sagged
