Anyone ever remove there rear swaybar? Did it improve traction much. Looking to see what I can do to get better traction with the weight transfer.

Erik

If you are looking for traction, we have a few components that will certainly help your traction issues! We have found success in our front chassis brace and our front strut tower brace. This will work on all 2G's GUARANTEED. Drop us a line or post your questions here.
Thank you,

Okay, what did the above post have anything to do with removing the rear swaybar??? It appears to me you're only concern is pushing a product and not answering the question at hand. This #@%#@%#@%#@% really chaps my ass. If you cannot get enough business from web links and banner ads, too bad. Don't clutter up forums with your spam !!!!!

Thank you,

This is like the 3rd post today I have seen this picture in. We get the idea, you like your product. I am happy for you.

Actually his question was about traction, NOT ONLY about a front sway bar. Sorry if you think it is spam, that is not our intention. We are simply just trying to help answer some questions here. We are not here to push products, notice there are no prices, release dates, etc... We just want to help the DSM community. Even if it means posting three pictures of the same product.
Again sorry if it seems like spam.
Thank you,

I can understand that. Try posting without the picture!!!

Am I missing something here? How would removing the rear sway bar increase traction? The sway bar only controls right to left weight transfer(body roll) not front to rear.

i don't know what kind of traction you're looking for, but i'm doubting it's the kind of traction that no rear sway bar would give you.

my assumption is that by removing the rear bar he is figuring that the lost weight on the rear will help him in the weight transfer area thereby giving him more traction at the front tires.

well in actuality all you're doing is removing dead weight from the rear. it will help, but to be honest a strut brace or under chassis brace may actually help more. one big mod i'm looking into next is a set of prothane motor mounts to keep everything iunder control under the hood.

another thing to think about is some sort of spring shock combo. i have eibach sportlines on my car and the rears have only about 1 1/2" of tavel at the most, but i still intend on getting a set of kyb agx shocks to tighten up the rear when i need it.

Well in road racing it can be pretty common for FWDers (mostly Hondas) to remove/eliminate their front sway bar and install a thicker rear sway bar for more oversteer. However you are wanting to remove the rear sway for more traction? In a straight line this will do nothing for you and in the turns your car will plow harder than a golf cart with a 500lbs midget on the front wheels.

If you are looking for more traction in a straight line I'd look to new motor mounts, depending on how far you want to go study spring rates and decide on some quality coilovers or spring and shock setups. New clutch, LSD, slicks, and some good driving will net you some impressive times but there is no magic setup or numbers to be had, just experiment. Good luck

I agree with mavisky about the spring strut combination. I have eibach sportlines also and non ajustable tociko struts and I cut pretty decent 60' times (2.1s) for the mods I have. I also plan on getting the motor mounts, because I've heard of a lot of good results from just installing them (especially getting rid of wheel hop).
