i have a 92 small brake w/abs, im gonna upgrade to 93+ and i need to get rotors, so which ones should i get, w/abs or without

AEM is a good choice either if you want just the rotors or the whole brake kit... I believe that the four rotors will run you $500 or so... but they are bigger that stock and have choices with colored center cap, the again you can get Brembo Slotted or cross drilled, Baer, or some other...

IMO, I think slots/cross drilled rotors, etc are for ricers who want to show off how "fast" their brakes look. Especially on a street car.

Modern brake pads are much more efficient than days of yore, and taking away that heat sink and surface area is only asking for more cracks/warping.

I have not heard much good about AEM stuff other than they've cracked with their cross drilling. If you really want big-monster rotors (Which really aren't needed for the street, considering the stock 2 caliper braking system with some sport pads is within 3rd generation RX-7 territory), upgrade the calipers with them. AP, Willwood, Brembo, etc make REAL brakes. AEM has, uh, the AEM EMS and some cold air intakes and strut tower bars. How many Pro SCCA guys are running AEM brakes?

If all you want to do is upgrade your brakes to the 2 piston calipers, I'd just stick with stock Brembo replacements. Power slots are a ripoff. They want 98 bucks a rotor because it has that shiny coating and the useless vents.

Well put...

while the drilling and slotting may dissipate heat, it also causes premature pad wear and the cracks that you probably don't want to deal with. My friend has stock Brembo replacements on his 96 240SX. They feel as good as my Power Stop slotted rotors, if not better. Just don't waste your money on them.
