Cutting strut tower, is that ok?

I want to cut out a peice of the strut towers from the top to allow upper control arm clearance. Does anyone know if there will be any issues after doing this?
 
Oh, only structural integrity!

What is your reason for needing more clearance?
 
I need more clearance because the control arm hits the strut tower.

I've already cut it out. So far I don't notice any difference.
