wheel hop....help

ok, so I have a 95 TSI FWD. I just put in the new tranny, because a couple of my friends and I went to drag day, and I shot a spider gear through the bell housing. why would that happen, and anything over 15lbs and I'm spinning like mad. I am currently running kyb gr2 struts eibach pro's 17" konig tantrums, with yokahama a520's 205/40r17s. I get no traction, and wheel hop makes the car sound like its going to fall apart. I have a busher motor in my garage that i am slowly completing the build up(finnishing bolt on mods) and am nervous to put it in. any good street setups for traction at about 400whp? please help before my car rattles to S*IT! thanks.

Hi,

To stop your or at least lessin your wheel hop you can get new transmission and engine bushings, such as energy suspension or prothane.

actually, I do have the energy suspension motor mounts...but no suspension bushings. good idea. how about suspension tho? my friend owns Connecticut Import Performance and he sells the tien's for a pretty good price...will that help at all as well?

aren't 205/40s a little small for our cars? I thought 215/45 was the minimum you could get away with? Also I'd try getting an adjustable suspension and loosening it. My KYB AGX all around eliminated my hop problems.
