Sticky Street tires for 2G FWD?

Does anyone have any opinions as to what a good choice would be for some sticky street tires for a GS-T. Also does anyone know if you can fit 235/40/18's without them rubbing or causing any major problems?

Hi,
I have 225/50-ZR16 Bridgestone Potenza RE730, and I think they are excellet in the dry and in the rain, I have no expierence with them in the snow, but they are not ment to be snow tire. They greatly improved handling and an improvement in braking and even an imporvement in acceleration, form the "butt" dyno, was noticeable. The tries I had on before where some normal Michelin tires, I forget exactly what they were. I bought them, had them mounted and balanced with new valve stems for around $650.00 at the Costco by my house. Not sure if 235/40-18 would fit without ribbing or causing problems, the sidewall might be a little to high, and the tire might be a little too wide.

Yo- I have a great tire for you. They are really affordable and I have tried everything and these rock. Try the Falcon Azina's. Run a 225/45/17 and you will find it very hard to brake them loose. My car is pretty well built ( 350hp ) and the suspension is awesome ( D2 coil overs, Sway Bars, camber kit , and Tie bars ) I have to really try and get these tires to brake the contact strip. They run about $110 each and they are bad ass. They come in two versions, get the straight up Azinas not the sw115's they are good as well but do not offer the same tread pattern. I use mine for road racing in they are the best I have used other than very high end Advans. Good Luck!

I would highly recommend the new Yokohama AVS ES100's. I have 225/45/R17's on my AWD DSM and they are amazing. Their grip is incredible both wet and dry. I got mine for about $110 each also.

Falken Azenis if you don't need snow. I have all-seasons, Pirelli PZero Nero M&S, and they're working pretty damn well. They're an ultra high performance all season.

I use Kumho Ecstas in 235/40/18. I have no complaints about them whatsoever. Fit will depend on other issues such backspacing and suspension. I have no rubbing with my setup.

Falken Azenis's are what I am using and have been using for 4 autoX events and 2 drag event...excellent sticky tires for street...but you live in NJ and winter is coming and so is snow...if you look at the Falkens, they are practically slicks...and not a great snow/wet tire. I love them and I will run them all year, since I live in CA and don't need a snow/wet tire.

The other nice thing about Falken's is the price...you wont find ANY sticky tire that will out perform them for the price...sure I would like a set of BF Goodrich G-Force KDW's but they cost twice what the Falkens cost...and will probably wear out quicker.
