I got a 96 gst and found that the brakes aren't holding up to the task. I need to upgrade bad! Anyways, What exactly do i need to upgrade, say i get 1g big gsx kit with rotors, brackets, calipers and pads, will i need different brake lines? If so, which kind?

Or, if i was to get 2g gsx rotors, brackets, pads, and calipers, will i need different brake lines? If so, which kind.
I dont' want to get these brakes and have them decorate my garage.

Any help would be much appreciated!

i have checked that, it doesn't tell me which year the banjo bolts were used or vice versa, anyone done this upgrade? And from which year did you use the parts from? I need to know about the brake lines, i know the calipers and rotors will fit, just not sure about how the brake lines are hooked up to the caliper and body of 1g, or 2g cars.

Just don't get 95 gsx calipers - they have the banjo bolt brake line fitting. All 95+ calipers don't have the banjo bolt and will bolt right up to your car.

That said, I have a set of 95 gsx calipers if you want to buy them :thumb:

I'd recommend going to RRE's website and buying a stainless steel brake line upgrade when you get the calipers. It's not mandatory, but you will notice a big improvement in feel.

You sure?
CAPS shows all 2G AWD's as having banjo bolts fittings and the 2G D32A's share the same part number for the front brake lines as the D33A's
I was under the impression that all 2G dual piston calipers used banjo fittings where as the 93 and 94 AWD calipers used hose threads.

If that's correct your 95 dual piston calipers should be just what kazzam's 96 D32A needs.

hmmm, good point. I based all my information on the writeup on vfaq.com

"What parts do I need to upgrade to 'Big Brakes'?

2G FWD: Same as 1G, except that you if you get 2G AWD calipers that don't have banjo bolt fittings, you will need to replace the brake line with a custom SS line to fit the body and caliper. If you get 2G AWD calipers that use the banjo fitting at the caliper, I believe they will bolt onto the FWD, though I have heard reports that the banjo fittings may be different sizes."

I think you're right, steve. thanks for clearing that up, i've been mistakingly listing these calipers for 95's only.
