well i have to get new rotors all around well fronts but buying backs to. my rear brakes dont work so my front rotors are warped.

so any suggestions will be helpfull.
brembos are crossdrilled and sloted
power slot are just sloted
power stop are just crossdrilled

I like brembos personally. Brembo makes brake systems for some of the quickest cars on the planet.

i was thinking about buying the brembo rotors from summit, just because of the name and quality. I have heard nothing but good stuff of Brembo so i would recomend investing in these myself

Hi,

I had powerslots on a 94 Jetta that I owned, I feel that they made a large difference over the stock rotors, espically in hard braking. I have no expierience with brembo though.

Get Brembos, and heres why, not to sound like an ad for the company but on E-Bay there is a company "Master Grade" that sells all FOUR rotors for $189.00 + shipping!!! You choose whether they are crossdrilled and slotted, just cross drilled or just slotted. You can even get them anodize (Zinc). Just a word to the wise that want to save some money like i did.

This is where i got my powerslot rotors and axxis MM pads. Good price and i would have to recommend the power slots.

However i would recommend an upgrade package for the fronts. after having these for 6 months i wish i would have went bigger from the beginning. Oh and don't for get the SS lines if you rubber ones collapse say bye bye to your rotor and caliper.

Power stop are cross drilled and dimpled.

I have those and they are excellent. Really good under high heat too.

i have powerslot rotors with ebc pads and they are great. it scared me the first time i was on the highway with them doin about 85 and locked them up. id get the slotted ones cuz ive heard that drilled ones can crack if beat on

the powerstop are cross drilled, but they are also dimpled which gets the heat out and makes them less likely to crack. Besides, you have to be doing some hardcore stopping over and over again to crack them. For street use, they'll be fine.

The reason some are worse then others are when it comes from to the cross drilling is that some companies do the drilling after the rotor is made, while others do the holes in the manufactoring process.

Bembo is the one company I would go with, with STOP-Tech coming in 2nd. The dimpled effect on the other companies rotor is a mere sales scheme. It creates a pocket of heat but doesn't allow it to release till after it passes over fully. When the hole is all the way to the middle section the heat is then able to be dispensed from the rotor.

I'm pretty sure they all drill the holes.

When it comes to brakes, everyone says that crossed drilled ones crack. This is somewhat true, but this is what it boils down to. Many places buy brembo rotors "blanks", and then have them drilled, then sold as brembo x drilleds. Problem is, is that the metal, and drilling ect is different. REAL brembo cross drilled do not crack, unless really neglected. I had brembo crossdrilleds on my Porsche 928s, and this is a damn heavy car..production V8. I drove that car as hard as I drove any other, and NEVER had a problem. But my freind gets a set for real cheap for his 911..and guess what? 6 months later, cracks so bad he had to remove them. You get what yoiu pay for, make sure you ask your suplier what they offer

The powerslots have worked great from what I know and I am planning in getting a set. I have never heard of a problem with them so far. But hands down..Brembos rock, but are spendy

If you are only getting rotors, and not calipers, I dont think any one particular kind will be any more beneficial than another. Are you planning on increasing the size of the rotor, or just buying aftermarket brand in the stock size? Summit sells Brembo stock replacement rotors for 39.95 for 1g DSMs.

If you actually want to increase your braking power you will need to increase the size of the rotor AND get bigger calipers. There are lots of choices, but Brembo definitely is top dog as far as brakes are concerned. However companies like Stop-Tech and Wilwood are also proven to be good for average street car owners that want extra braking power.

Oh yeah, on my car I am using powerstop crossdrilled rotors (stock size) and Axxis MetalMaster brake pads. It takes a bit longer for these pads to heat up but they do seem to slightly help, although I really haven't driven on them hard enough yet to be sure. My old rotors were warped and the Pep-Boys pads werent doing that great to begin with though.

Brembo definately. I got them on my car. When braking hard its fricken crazy how fast they stop. I also got VGX pads. Get them on ebay, they're pretty cheap, but dont buy 4 disc brakes like i did, disc brakes dont fit in the back. So i would say buy 2 front brembo rotors off of ebay and then do what u want with the back

Ditto (scary thing is I've actually USED ditto machines <g>) on all the good stuff about brembo rotors. I have brembo slotted. The car stops when brakes are pushed. I'm happy :)

The only caution I'll mention about powerslots is that I've heard people say they can crack at the edges of the slots. The brembos don't carry the slot out to the edge like the powerslots do. Then again, a zillion people say powerslots are great, so maybe it's a one in a million thing...

The only reason discs don't work on the back of your car is because its a non turbo with crappy drums in the rear. All the turbo model DSM's have discs in the rear.

anyone heard of these black diamond rotors?FTO drivers in the UK swear on em,and they are available for the 1g+2g too.

anyone heard o these Blackdiamond rotrs, the FTO guys claim that they r good
