........ the one in the middle that holds the actual strut in? does your car have to be on a lift for them to tighten right? do they have a stopping point where they tighten all the way? because mine just keep spinning, that is the right rear and right front, the other two tighten. and yes i am tightening them, cmon im not that stupid. whats the deal? not to try and rush anyone but i need a quick answer as im doing this now. and larry please leave ths in te hangout, it wil never get answered in repair and mainteneance, nobody goes in there. thank you. once its answered, then i dont care if it gets moved.

You are supposed to tighten those while the spring is compressed.
The outer ones hold the assembly in place. The shaft is turning and it will not tighten that way. If you are holding the end with a wrench it may be stripped.

If I understand you correctly..... Look at the top where you put the nut at... It should be flat on two sides directly above the threads. You need to put the nut on till it threads on.. then take a crecent wrench and hold the threaded top where the two flat sides are. What you are doing is spinning the whole piston rod while your tighting. Do you understand what I mean?

was just making sure htey were tight beacuse the front ones loosened up on me before. i tightened those twice and solved the jiggling problem so i was just makin sure everything was tight and the nuts just keept spinnin but not tightening or losening, in other words the nuts werent moving up or down the thread, just spinning and stupid me is wondering y #@%#@%#@%#@% isnt tight but i gess it is if theres no jiggling or play in the suspension right? . i guess everything is alright but could i have #@%#@%#@%#@%ed up anything by spinnin the sht out of the nuts tryin to tighten them?

No, it doesn't hurt aything to do that but I would try holding the rod and tightening them like ECLIPSE4X4 said.
