On a 99 GSX what would you guys recomend to upgrade the suspension. Springs or coilover?? What brand etc.. Also besides just the springs or coilovers what else would need to be purchased to lower the car properly.. I dont know alot about suspensions yet and any help here would be great!!!!!!!!!! Thanks alot

What about shocks? Whats really good? And whats the deal with cutting the rubber bumper things??? Is all that information on the directions?? I know with the directions I could figure it out but if it doesn't say then I'll have no idea!!! Opinions on Skunk2's????

yea..only go with ground control. they are the best in my opinion. on my gst...i had skunk2 and the ride is stiff and bouncy..u bounce everywhere like krazy. now..on my gsx..im running ground controls with tokico illuminas and they ride is awsome.

and for the shocks..if ur only goin to be doing daily driving..get some kyb or tokico non-adjustable but if ur gion to roadrace and autox..go with koni yellows or tokico illuminas.

Thanks for the help guys ... Will be ordering up some ground controls shortly any suggestions on where to get them???

ground control sucks, might as well cut your springs, at least you'll have a matched system that way. don't get anything cheaper than TEIN FLEX, they're already cheap enough compared to other brands anyway.

I do agree that flex is the best way to go but most dsmers are cheap as hell and can't justify the price tag.

If you are cheap then you should buy a different car. It is one thing to do mods on a budget, but its' another to buy parts that do more harm than good on your vehicle.

if you're going for a coilover setup....go with TEINS...you'll definately be satisfied. Ground control coilovers are sleeve coilovers...my friend in his prelude had difficulty with them especially in the new york area....hit a pothole one time...and broke the sleeve.....just simply picture, his car....stuck in a pothole, not a pretty site.

in any form of modding, you get what you pay for....budget deals are always great, if and only if the deal is truly in your car's favor.

I find it interesting that not one person here who has insisted that he upgrade to a particular setup has even bothered to asked why he's upgrading, and what he expects out of a new setup. Is it for "mad tyte looks, yo"? Is it for autocross? Open track? 1/4-mile passes? A decent middle ground?

As a data point, there's plenty of folks on the dsm-autox group running GC's, because they're not made of money.

People might as well say, "never run anything cheaper than Bilsteins", fer crissake.
