Brake upgrade on a budget

Hi guys,
i would like to upgrade my brake system but i'm on a budget. I was thinking of getting slotted and drilled rotors and new brake pads.
Any suggestions on brands? models?
Anything else i should also upgrade?

Before you spend any money on stock sized rotors check your local junk yards to see what they want for the dual piston calipers off the AWD's. I paid $35 each for mine and it was worth every penny. Since the difference in caliper cost is $10 so for $90 more than just fixing your brakes you can have much better ones.

what other car calipers and brake parts will fit my 95 GST?

Many Mitsubishi cars use the same calipers/mounts. The Big Brake VFAQ lists some of them. What you want to keep in mind is your car uses a banjo fitting to attach the brake line to the caliper. If you asking a yard for calipers and brackets just ask for fronts off a '96 or later GSX to be sure. Their inventory is usually cross referenced by usage so they can sell a part that's the same between cars regardless of which model and year it came from. If your kicking around looking to pull some try '94+ Diamante's, 3000GT base and SL models. Just check to make sure their banjo style fittings or you'll need custom brake lines.
