need tire advice

Im gonna be my first set of tires.....ever, well high performance. The car already came with 18in rims and Nangkang(sp?) NS-2 H rated. Im probably not gonna need anything higher then an H rated but I figure if I can find an inexpensive ZR rated tire thats only like $10 more then the H, Id get that. I'd like to keep it to under $125 per tire, Z rated, M+S, high treadwear#. Now I found theses Visa tires (click) and the specs seem to fit what Im looking for and there $92.00. Anyone have an opinion on them or can u recommend another tire with better specs for under $125.

First off why do you want a M+S rated tire? Do you live in an area where it snows or is icy frequently in the winter?
You should know that an M+S rating honestly means very little about a tires ability to handle in snow and ice, a tire company can pretty much slap that label on whatever they want.
In snow you want a tire that has voids that will dig into the snow, that visa tire doesn't.

If it doesn't snow or get icy frequently where you live just get a "summer" rated performance tire. Just because it's summer rated doesn't mean it's designed for dry weather.

My first recomendation given the tight budget is the BFG T/A KDW. I just got a chance to try these tires back to back with a few other tires on a Lexus IS300 beating the CR*P out of the car on a autoX type course. Extremely good feedback, good feel of the road, very progessive and easily controlled breakaway, and good grip.

The next is the yokohama AVS es100. A little softer sidewall, but it is still very responsive due to the tread design. I have a couple friends running these (including my mom ) and they are all happy with them.

There's also the Kumho Ecsta 712. It's a much lower price, but it's handling limits are very low in dry weather compared to the other tires. It likes to make noise extremely early before breaking away. It does do great in the rain though.

If you absolutely have to get a M+S rated tire look at this sumitomo over that visa tire. I know one dsm running these and a couple WRXs. They're not overly impressive, but they get the job done, and actually do pretty well in the snow.

If you are doing a lot of snow driving I highly recomend getting a dedicated snow and ice studless tire. I've had great results with the Michelin artic/pilot alpins and bridgestone blizaks.

Oh and BTW tires are what I do for a living, so no I'm not just some idiot
