OK, heres whats up. I have 18 inch motegi dp5 with 225/40/18.....im pretty sure im going to get eibach sportlines with tokico non-adjustables. First off, is this a good combo? and second, will i rub? Thanks guys

I have 235/45/17's on my car and when I put springs and non-adjustable Tokico shocks on mine and it rubbed on the passenger rear. I don't know for sure if yours will rub since they aren't as wide and the bigger rims will lift the car a little. If they do rub all you will have to do is roll the fenders (which is what I have to do).
Also, I think thats a good combo. Look into the Eibach prokit though. I'm pretty sure the drop is a little less, and I've heard they are better. No personal experience with either though.

Just spotted your thread. I don't know if you made your decision yet but this may help. DSM.org has a fitment guide that I referred to before I bought my tires and wheels. I wanted about the biggest and widest tires I could get and still be practical. I got an 18" x 8.5" rim with 40 mm offset and 235/40/18 tires.

I read that it might be necessary to roll up the flange inside the rear wheel wells to fit tires this wide. After driving over a few bumps I did notice a line on one tire where it was rubbing the flange. I snipped the flange about every four inches and pounded it up. If you do this, seal the flange with some roofing cement or something. I had no problems after this.

With a little more offset it may be possible to go as wide as 245s, or so I've heard.

I had the Eibach Pro and Tokico Adjustable on my 97 GST.. hated it! Cant speak for everyone else but the drop is more than advertised 1.3". with 18" rims and fatter tires. I would suggest u go with a Coilover... I recently put on Ground controls with the tokicos and its worked out great.. Im looking into changing to the Progress Coilover cause the Groundcontrols are a bit stiff for Philly streets and progress is much better company.

Hope this helps..

Have a question of my own.... anyone know the best offset for 18" rims with 225/40?

Something close to the stock 46mm should be about the best. I have 40 mm offset with 235/40/18. They fit but I had to roll the rear fender flanges. A little more will bring your wheels further in and away from the fender lip.
