Ok I just recently went through this big ordeal wiht having to spend an hour more at a shop trying to find springs taht fit my 2g Spyder GS-t. Well the guy talks to the guy at Eibach and he says there are special springs that are needed for the spyder. He orders them and when I get them it says will not fit spyder GS-t, but will fit a Spyder GS!!! WTF? Is there a difference? Well besides the turbo?!?! Someone please hlep me out.

eibach made specific springs for the spyders due to increased weight. if you dont want eibach then get any springs made for the gsx, gsx springs will fit the spyders perfectly since the spyders are heavier in the rear than the regular fwd coupes

Spyders wigh a good chunk more then the hardops. I was noticing this when I was out racing one day. a sypyder n/t weighed around 2800 where as my hardtop only weighs 2300

Nevermind I solved it. Eibach's spyder GS springs will fit my GS-T. I guess they couldn't find a test car so they made a notice that it wouldnt fit cus they didnt know. They found one and they just need to change the notice cus it will fit. Thanks for all the help. :dsm:

LOL i wish my spyder weighed 2800 lbs. but a 5-speed gst/tsi weighs in at about 2,972lbs and a 5-speed spyder gst weighs almost more 100 lbs than the gst coupe, it weighs 3,053lbs. and get this the n/t spyder weighs almost 100 lbs less than a hardtop 5-speed gst/tsi.

Any 2g fwd springs will fit the Spyders. Eibach does make "spyder specific" springs due to the increased weight....but they're not necessary and I've actually heard they lower the car very little (1-1.25"). I've got springs listed for the regular hardtop 2g, they've been on for about 2 years now and I've had no problems whatsover, it's about a 2" drop. I also know many others who have done this.
