I have a 98 talon tsi awd and i was wondering if anyone has an esimate on how much it would cost to lower my car a few inches. Thanx

Well I might be able to help you out. I just got mine lowered on saturday and it was failry inexpensive for what I thought. I paid about $700 total. This is for new Shocks/Struts, springs and proffesional installation. I didn't get cheap stuff either, I got Eibach Sportline springs and KYB GR-2 shocks/struts. The car's handeling and ride is awesome.
I was so paranoid about it ruining my car's ride and not lower to what I wanted. It lowered it just a little bit more that what I thought, but that is good because I was hoping for a lower drop than what the Eibac hsprings said. So I would say areound $700 for a good set-up.

if you are goin with coilovers like g/c's and then some adjustable struts. and throw in camber kits and alignment with that and pro install i'd say about 1g. WIth springs, struts, camber, alignment and putting them on yourself... 5-600.

I lowered mine with simple Sprint lowering coils for measly $200. However the camber's all out of wack. I haven't bought a camber kit because of wanting other stuff(ie. rice)but it's something I may get by end of summer.

To simply lower the car. Get yourself a set of eibach prokits ($200) and install for springs would cost about 3 hours at a shop. (about $180) You wont need a camber kit and you will be happy at where the ride sits.

So you are looking to spend about $400.

They lowered my car about 2". I did not need a camber kit nor an alignment. The tires sit beautifully, and square. I also have plenty of clearance, nor really sure on inches but I would say maybe 6". I do not rub on inclines or speed bumps. It was not an aggressive drop, and it looks really nice, I will have to up load some updated photos. You would check out my gallery and see old ones...

i just got my stuff. sportlns and gr2 from tirerack 470ish got the eibach camber adjust bolts for the front havnt put em in yet.

sprint springs were on sale so $150.
struts, kyb gr-2's since i'm broke were $210 for all 4.
home made camber kit for rear was $10.
front was fine so no camber kit.
and an allignment was $60.

so in total i spent $430. of course that wasn't all at once either. springs first, then camber and allignemnt and then eventually struts. so $430 over a one year time.
later
