hey peepz, whats up? well anyways, here's how the story goes...
When i got my gst I just couldn't wait to lower my ride being that they look so tight when they are dropped. So anyways, I looked on the net and I found new sprint springs for $60 and it seemed to be a great deal so I bought them. I didn't have enough cash at the time so I installed them and drove around with my stock shocks for about 2 months. Throughout the beginning the ride wasn't that harsh, but after a while it just got worse and worse so i decided to finally get my illuminas( I bought them off ebay for $380 shipped). This past tuesday I took it to a local shop to get some new front tires, put the illuminas on, and get it aligned. I thought tha t by changing the struts to illuminas all my problems would be solved, but in fact the ride quality remained teh same. So here I am driving my dsm with a hell of a bumpy and jolty ride, and I have to listen to all these squeaks and creaks my car makes which really irritates me being that I spent like 500 bucks to fix this. So basically what i want to ask is what's wrong with my suspension??

Tokico struts have to have a very good spring on them or they will ride rough. Look into H&R or EIBACH.

As for squeaks, try some lithium grease on your joints (spray or paste).

get some H&R race for sure... thats what i have, and i even have stock shocks and it rides awesome... just make sure you have a camber kit cuz they are like 2.5" drop, and if you dont have a camber kit (i dont :() you will EAT tires like hell, like i am... i have about 70% tread on the outside, and the inside is damn near bald :( for $70+ each, you dont wanna be goin through tires that quick, ive only had these kumhos on it about 6 months, and its almost time for new ones. so get some of these springs and a camber kit and you will be good to rock and roll... check out my sig pic or my gallery for an idea of what kinda drop they will give ya... good luck bro

thanks a lot guys, I guess what the real problem is are the sprint springs I have on (although when I bought them I thought they were a reputable brand...) which WILL be replaced like you guys suggested with some eibach or h&r as soon as I get hold of some cash because this damn ride is so crappy!!

first I would like to know your settings on the tokicos.... also noblody failed to mention no matter what springs you use, lowering a car will change the ride. These are sports cars... not Cadillacs. :)

That's a given. Anyone lowering there car should already know that. But it shouldn't ever be unbearable. Buy quality parts and you'll get a quality ride.:)

I have the tokico's set at 3 in the front and 2 in the back. Oh, and I do know that lowering a car will affect the ride quality, but I just didn't expect it to be real bad.
