:dsm:I have a silver 99 eclipse GS and I am looking to lower my car, and still get good performance out of it. should i go with coilovers or just lowering springs? i will take any advice or opinions i can get. thanx for all ur help.

Oh yeah my car still has the stock OZ racing rims on it. i am looking at 18 or 19's so i want to add that into the mix.

This depends on how much you want to spend and how much performace you really want. If you simply want to lower your car, lowering springs are fine and cost effective. However, if you want to maintian suspension travel and still be lowered with great handling coilovers are the way to go...

Coilovers are merely adjustable springs. If you want really nice ones that are expensive, then go TEIN, I don't know about the good cost-effective ones.

get good ones, i have cheap ractive ones and its so horrible to drive, every bump feels like its gonna break something. just waiting to get my eibachs in then they are being changed

Go springs unless your getting the top notch full coilovers systems like teins or jic magic. I had skunk2 coilovers with KYB AGX but the suck. So I swapped them for Tokico Illuminas with Eibach Pro-kits and there 100 times better. That's just my opinion!

Coilovers are def expensive. Tein is like $1200, from what I thought I heard. I have Ground control coil overs and defiantly like them more then my eibach prokits.

if you want cost effective ground control coil-overs may be what you want.

if people have been autox and R/R on them for years........they work just fine.
