Hello, I was considering getting some new wheels for my car. I was wondering if I would run into any problems, such as wheel bearings going bad or rubbing occuring if I put a VOLK SE37 17X8.5 with a 40mm offset wrapped in a 235 45 ZR17 tire on in front and 17X9.5 with a 40 mm offset wrapped in a 245 45ZR17 tires in the rear? I have the TEIN FLEX SUSP. with a 1.5" drop in front and 1.9" in rear. Would problems occur with this suspension? Any help would be appreciated?

i am assuming this is a awd...well you need to have all the same size tires and rims both front and rear...also I had some 17x8 with 235/45/17 tires and the rear tires would rub the upper control arm....if I accelerated to fast so all the weight jumps back...but when its parked i had like a 1/4-1/2 inch of clearance only and the rims where 40 mm offset...so mine did rub...and 245 will definitely rub..

Actually it is a FWD and thanks for the advice. I was able to get a great deal on the volks, but I thought they were to big. I think I will just stick with some kosei 17X7.5 and put 225's on them.

i have 235/40/18 tires on my car. they have a 42 mm offset. the front tires do not rub but the rear tires were rubbing all the time. so...ii am goign to get like 1/8" wheel spacers so that my rear tires wont rub. my front dont rub at all from lock to lock. so its good

I ran 235/40/17's on my 7.5" wide gram lights and I had no rubbing.

Also: You do NOT want wider tires on the rear of a FWD car unless you want to handle even WORSE, and plow even more in turns. Leave the big rear tires for the RWD guys.
