I'm deciding to plan out what *exactly* I want when I buy these in a month or two. This is pretty much a 19 year old (hopefully with a starting IT job in 8 months *crosses fingers*) Here is what I'm shooting for:

Tires:

Kumho ECSTA KH11
Size 225/55WR17

My ideal rims on a budget:

Rota Sub Zero
17x7.5"
5x114.3
+45mm (I believe) offset; but the webpage leads it to look like +48mm for the 17's

Should this work out well? I'm trying to get a decent setup for track use that won't become completely destroyed if I hit a pothole.

Thanks.

But wouldn't the 55's be more beneficial than the 45's as far as drag launching is conserned? I guess I should have stated that I want this car to be a decent dragster and an equally good autocrosser (I'm letting it lose it's SCCA virginity in 3 weeks when I take it out to Pcola :p )

More sidewall means more flex better launching, but with that size tire the speedo will be off by 7-8 MPH. With todays technology in tires you can get almost the same launching abilities of a bigger sidewall in the 45's. Plus with that high of a sidewall it might rub too.

205/55 16 112.75 overall diameter in MM
225/55 17 123.75 "" 11 mm taller
225/45 17 101.25 ""

To keep the same overall diameter get 225/45's.

On the 7.5" rim what would be a good mm size to go with?

Basically ?/45/17. What would you reccomend for the "?"

Thanks guys; keep the replies coming.

if you want wider go 235/45.... be aware though.. that wide of a wheel and tire be sure to get the correct offset and backspacing though. Or it will rub.
