Rim Question

Anyone every put a 18.8 on the front and a 18.9 on the rear of a 2G? If so, what all did you have to do? What size tires did you go with. The rims I am going with are the new Paradyme Alloys F/271 with a +42 offset.

I plan on keeping the F/220's for my every day use, and show the missile on the F/271's.

If you like the F/220’s, I can get you a set of 18's silver with the 2 1/2 polished lip for $700 shipped to your door. If you want some 17's, I can get you some shipped to your door for $650.

If you want to get crazy and go all out, then the chrome F/220’s are the way to go!

I can get you a set of F/220's in double dipped polished chrome for $1,200, and 17's for $1,000.

I have Volk GTC 18x8's w/ a 43MM offset , and the rear barely clears. I think you might have trouble fitting the 18x9's but wouldnt you basically have to just roll the fender for the larger tire to clear?

Yea, I have heard of rolling the fenders. I am more worried about the tires clearing the ground controls. What size tires are you running?

I hate to turn this into a sales thread, but...how much do those F/220's weight? I am 1G, so I would need the 17's. Do you have 17 X 8 in 40 mm offset? Weight?

also, do you have a problem spinning on the 18s during your launch? i was thinking about getting 18s, but the sidewalls are so small i figured id spin for days versus a 17" rim w/ a tire that has some meat on it.

I am running 18x7.5 Konig's with 225/40R18 Kuhmo's and was still getting some wheelspin on hard launches. Most people I've talked to that race the FWDs are alright with 18s on front. We have the power to turn them no problem, and the 18s help soak up a little to prevent that darn wheelspin. Best solution....find a GSX, I did.

i am running 225 40 18 Nitto 555's on Eibachs.....I do not think i could have fit 235's w/o rolling the fenders...

If you like the F/271, I have a few 18 inch sets left in Silver and quite a few in chrome. Just PM or call me if you would like more information.

I also have a very limited supply of 19 inch F/220's and 19 inch F/271. 19 inch are custom orderd and take about 6 weeks to build.
