Will 235/45s fit 17x7.5 Kosei K-1's & can you run different diameter tires F&R?

Also, what tire would you guys recommend for best priced combo of performance & daily LA pothole driving?

1. My car is a:
b) 2g DSM

2. My wheel size is: Kosei K-1
Diameter: 17
Width: 7.5
Offset: 35mm I believe

3. My current height is
KYB AGX's on Eibach Pro-Kits

4. If suspension is lowered,
a) Rear camber will be adjusted to less than 1° negative.

5. Rear fender flange rolling:
b) I will not roll the fenders.

6. My driving style is:
b) Street only, but I like to feel secure on twisty roads.
c) Street and Strip.
d) Street and Autocross.

7. I have searched for and read the FAQ's, Tech Articles, and threads on wheel and tire fitment:
a) Yes, but I just need someone with experience to validate my choices.

Thanks!

245's look nice and meaty on a 7.5" wheel. you'll enjoy the extra traction to.

Tire size calculator shows 808 revs/mile for 225s vs 796 for 235s, so ~1.5% difference. Is that enough to damage the differential or should it be fine?

Thanks!

Don't. Not only Are the 235's wider they are taller as well. Keep all tires the same.

sent from my evo.

Our cars have purely mechanical differentials. Running different tire sizes will tear up the center differential. It's as bad as putting a donut on a drive tire.

Or to put it in perspective, put a heavy boot on one foot and a sock on the other. Then try to run a few miles.

I've seen a Few AWD Strictly Drag cars the had a wider tire on the back... But would assume they are the same overall Circumference ... . Either way I wouldn't chance it.

Even something as minute as putting a fresh tire of the same size brand and make when the other 3 have miles on them can kill a mechanical diff/tcase. Don't muck about.

...anyone who even runs a AWD or 4WD setup should know not to even run different treads let alone widths or profile..

BAD BAD IDEAR!

Thanks guys for saving my differential from an untimely death! :thumb:

Picked up 2 235/45-17 Falken FK 452s w/50% thread for $60 and getting another used pair of 235/45-17s from the tire shop tmrw

I also run FK-452's on my 2g in a 245/40/17 and love them. Great response and they grip. (They do wear a bit quick though) Also have a set on my wife's GS400 in a 255/40/17

I am rocking 245/40/17 Hankook Ventus V12 EVOS on 17x8 wheels with a 35mm offset, they don't rub very often only very hard bumps in the rear, the fronts have no issues with rubbing any where. my car is flush with a bit hanging out of the fenders. The grip is absolutely phenomenal around turns as for hooking up from a dig, I spin violently in first and when nlts into second I spin as well.

I am lowered a claimed "1.75" on a Tokico Strut spring combo and poly bushings all the way around "even lower with these" and swaybar endlink bushings. I am at least 2.5" to 2.75" lower than stock. I have no body roll and the ride isn't to bad, a bit bouncy going over large bumps but I expect that out of a performance geared suspension setup without coilovers.

Awesome guys, thanks for the input! Just got 235/45-17 FK-452's put on all round (tires shop didn't have any used in that size :( so I sprung for a pair of new ones).

Seems like they might be rubbing a bit in the rear, which is a little surprising...I do have 3 tires in the trunk right now though LOL, but that's not that much weight

^ sick ride. love the color of those rims. Im on Enkei RPF1 and dunlop direzza star specs great wheel and tire combo. If youve never had real high performance street tires youll be amazed at the difference. mine stick out a touch in the front and are flush in the rear with no rubbing at all.

Thanks man! Yea I love my gunmetal K-1's, esp since brake dust just makes them a dull bronze color :hellyeah: What size star specs are you running?

What kind of brake pads do you have? I've never had that problem with Ceramic pads...

Edit: Nevermind looked at your Profile... .

yup Axxis metal-dusters :sneaky:

bah I meant 235 in my last post.no 245 will not rub with a 35+ offset. glad you went with 235 best size for the 7.5. If you are rubbing tuck the lip on the rear fender.
thx man! man now that I've gone bigger I wanna go bigger again LOL...next time 245s or 255s! OMG

Turns out it wasn't rubbing, I was just hearing things haha.

Absolutely lovin these FKs! Ride seems much better (and quieter too) on broke-ass, pothole-filled LA roads LOL Haven't pushed them too hard yet except for a couple of on-ramps, and I'm pretty pleased! :thumb:
