what suspension for 2gen GSX?

Tokikoc Illuminia Adjustable Advanced Handling Package.

I bought this for my 98 GSX and it's excellent. Lowers the car 1.75" and you get the 5-Way Adjustable Struts with the kit.

Got my kit for $550 from a friend, have seen it advertised for $650.:thumb:

Thanks
Olsookie!;)

You can easily get away with the Tokico's and springs for less than a grand. depending on what springs you use though, you may have to do camber kits. They can get a little pricey depending on which one you go with. The Eibach kit seems to be good, and isn't badly priced.

I just ordered my suspension package with H&R Soprt Springs (1.7" drop in front & 1.4" drop in rear) with Koni Yellow adjustable shocks for about 750 including tax and shipping. From what I hear, Koni's are supposed to be better than the Tokico's, but are a little more pricey.

I think I'm going to do the Eibach camber kit on the front ($85) and try to do the $15 camber mod on the back from the vfaq website.

After you have that, add the sway bars, and you're all set!

"try to do the $15 camber"

Hey my man,

you won't need to do this mod for the back of your car, I lowered the gsx 1.75" inthe back and when i turn the adjusters in the back all the way out, the back of the car was perfect.

Thanks. Did you need the camber kit for the front?

hey man, i did need the camber kit for the front and PLEASE don't go with Ingals, what junk those kits are. I paid something like $150-$160 for the camber kit for the front with Polyurethane bushings and i cleaned them every 6 weeks and greased them with AMSOil Sync grease and they are crap now, i need to replace them a year later.
I don't know who the Eibach Camber kits are that you were mentioning earlier in this post, but i personally think the Ingals is junk.

Thanks

I have KYB AGX, and H&R spring for more than 4 years, they work great together. I just had Eibach camber kit (front) installed today, so don't know how good it is.

Can you let me know how the Eibach kits works out after a couple weeks of driving?

Thanks
Olsookie!!

The Eibach adjusters are really Specialty Products adjusters - considered by many to be among the best (http://www.specprod.com/HOME.HTML). K-mac makes great stuff too, but they're hard to find in the US and are pricey.

I don't understand what you mean when you said "The Eibach adjusters are really Specialty Products adjusters - considered by many to be among the best "???? Can you please clairfy that?

Eibach doesn't make camber adjusters. Specialty Products manufactures them for Eibach. When I ordered Eibach adjusters, they actually came in red Specialty Products boxes with SP part numbers. I'm not sure Eibach even bothers to package them in their own boxes.

If you want confirmation, go here: http://www.alamoautosports.com/alamo/store/en-us/dept_93.html

"High-speed stability is also enhanced making an alignment kit from Eibach almost a necessity for the serious performance tuner. <b>Manufactured by Specialty Products Company for Eibach.</b>"

If you're asking why they are considered among the best, I suggest you do your own search in the archives or on Google Groups and make up your own mind up based on what others have said before.

I don't know if your statement is right or not, Maybe you are right. However, when I ordered my Eibach Alignment kit, it came in the Eibach box with Eibach part number, and instructions of how to install and adjust the camber kit from Eibach. Again, maybe you are right since many times certain brand stuff actually was made by somebody else (for example, Greddy Turbo is acutally made by Mitsubishi). Anyway, I brough the car to alignment today, the camber kit is able to adjust up to one degree, which bring the camber very very close within the factory range, but not within it. My car has H&R spring, so it was lowered more than 1.3 inches in the front, so it was way-off before. Regarding driving impression, yes it is better for me, but maybe not for you, since it is a relative term.

Interesting...
This becomes an open question then -
Has Eibach started packaging SP parts in their own boxes?
Has Eibach found a new source for parts that don't come from SP now?
Does Eibach have different parts, some from SP, some from elsewhere?

It has been almost a year since I bought mine - things may have changed.

In any case, your Eibach parts are probably high quality. Certainly if they are really SP. But if Eibach is now buying from Ingals, then I might not be happy.

You said they adjusted up to one degree. The SP adjusters I'm familiar with adjust to 0.75, 2 or 3 degrees. This sounds like they may be different.
