Alright, so this is frustrating the hell out of me. I am getting a loud knocking noise and at the same time I feel it through the floorboards, it is that violent. I tightened everything, and nothing is loose, however there is grease around the cv axle leading me to beleive thats going bad. I have never known an axle to make loud banging and loud noises. Checked the xhaust, its all tight and I smack it around and cant reproduce the sound.

Its weird, around town, no noise. On the highiway....no noise for about 50 minutes. Then after 50 minutes it starts up, then goes silent, then starts up again in about 2 minute intervals. Go around town, quiets up, back on the highway...good 30-40 minutes later...makes noise and banging again...ARGH! Literally feels like the exhaust is on the ground and banging against the floorboards.

Does it knock even on smooth surfaces? Does the kocking increase with speed? If you checked everything and it looks good it very well maybe the cv. It can change length etc so maybe under certain conditions it's binding up...

Yeah since its leaking anyway ill replace the axle and hope thats it. God it is NASTY sounding...geeze.

And yes...its on smooth surfaces too.

No play at all, of course Advance Auto people are dipshits and forgot to order it even though...they told me they ordered it, so ill have to wait till tonight or tomorrow to install the axle and see if thats the problem. God I hope it is...

Checked play in the driveshaft, didnt seem too bad. Seemed like hey were intact, but maybe not. Good suggestion! I will check that.
