I wanna know if the actual Spindle from the FWD to AWD are the same. They look the same but I dont wanna bolt on the FWD Spindle to the AWD without knowing. The FWD rear Spindle inside the Hub Assembly has splines, like what the Axle would slide into... But its on a FWD Car.

Can someone help me with this soon? I need to know before next week.

Am I reading this right?
You're asking if the rear hub/spindle is the same on FWD and AWD?
If so, then NO they're different.

Yes. I ask because I have a FWD Parts car. You know those bowl looking metal caps over the rear center portion of the hub... I took one of those off for a reason I don't remember, and the hub inside, had splines as if an Axle could be installed into it. I didn't know why except to think that maybe they used the same spindle, just the rest of the suspension was different and there's an axle of course.

Also, I'm talking about 2g, not 1g. Just in case that changes anything. They really look the same, But oh well. thanks for the info.

I just took a quick look at CAPS and the 2G rear spindles have different part #'s, but that doesn't make up for actual experience. Since you have both cars, try it and see.

im with pneumo on that try it and prove the books wrong... :thumb: im swapping an A/T GS-T to a M/T GS-X right now and im running into all kinds of stuff thats similar between the two that are rumored not to work on the different cars.

good luck and hopefully you find something out that nobody else has...

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have the vary same question. I'm converting my GST into a GSX, but I don't have a donor car. Here in Brazil GSX's are absurdly rare and cost as much as a 3000GT VR4. Also, importing parts is expensive due to shipping and suffer a lot of taxes (which, BTW, take the shipping value into account). So I wanted do it changing as little parts as possible, especially big/heavy parts like a knucke.

I know you guy usually buy a donor car and swap the whole thing as it's easier, but as I told you, that's not my case. Can anyone confirm just how different the rear suspension in a GST is from a GSX?

Thanks!
