Silicone brake fluid?

ok, so I don't have ABS and I'm thinking about filling up with Silicone brake fluid when I replace my rotors, pads, and fluid in the next week or so. Then, (they say) I would never have to change it again. Only thing is, What are any negatives? Obviously the manufacturer isn't going to list any.

Is silicone the DOT-5 stuff? If so, I believe it resists boiling better, but is more likely to absorb moisture. Plus it's incompatible with 3 and 4, so you need to really clean out the old stuff well.

I put in DOT 5 silicone fluid a few years ago, before I discovered any DSM
web sites. The reason it's touted for long life of your brakelines is
because it doesn't absorb moisture. However, all the DSM web sites
tell you not to use silicone fluid, because it is a bit compressible,
causing a spongy brake-pedal feel.

i would suggest valvoline's syn DOT 3/4 fluid. its avail locally and is in a goldish bottle. i've used it in several cars and very pleased with it.

Id stay away from DOT 5 for the cost factor, and for the fact that it really wont make your brakes feel any better. A good flush with some DOT-4 fluid will do the trick.
