k-sport daily driver spring rates?

Ok, I got in on the k-sport coilover group buy from jnz. I finally got the coilovers put on my second car, since the first got totaled before they got here. Thess things are way to stiff. i went with what was recommended by the sales person at the time. Turns out they were 12/7 or 672/392. So I called them and asked about different rates. I was told I could go no more than 2 different on front and 1 on back before needing a revalve. This means I can only drop to 560/336. From all the reading and searching I have been doing this will still be too stiff for a daily driver. Anybody running any rates comparable on the street?

Try turning the shock softer and see how that feels to daily drive on. if that doesn't work, than you'll probably have to revalve to get them to feel the way you want.

I turned it to the softest and it is better, but still way to rough. Is 112/56 difference gonna be considerable difference? That is the max I can drop without the revalve. That makes it 560/336.

If you can run a little less preload on the springs it might help. According to the website where I got my Ksports from, mine are 420/392. It is fairly stiff, but still perfectly acceptable (to me) for daily driving.

Reducing the rate and damping should smooth things out some. The biggest thing with most inexpensive coilovers is, WAY too much high speed compression damping and the adjusters only control low speed damping. Welcome to the world of budget suspension.

Since the "wheel rates" (think leverage on the spring) are different from 2 to 1g's the rates don't compare directly. Also, preload doesn't change spring rate or damping, its really more for balancing the corner weights.

Oops, wasn't paying attention. No one else had any input, though. I got mine knowing they would be pretty stiff.

I had the same issue. Told the salesman I wanted spring rates for a daily driver, he sent the 12/7 rates. Way to stiff, so I talked to them and they told me I could go 2 steps lower on the spring rate. I tried that and it was still too stiff. After searching and many pm's, mostly turboglenn, I decided to go with 350 front and 200 rear. Still waiting on the coilovers though
