Rant or rave. Roll in the rear and minor pull in the front.

Never been a fan of the skinny tire on the wide wheel.

I'm more of a fat tire on a skinnier wheel kind of guy.

But to each his own. :thumb:

225/40/18. Negative camber helps turn-in. Im a manager at a tire shop so i take the tires off of the wheels and rotate them side to side to help the cause. All my friends have 240's/Z's so the look definately rubbed off on me. as far as extra money for a wider wheel, there really isn't much difference in price. Wider wheels with lower offsets are always going to look better (dish/lip) than a higher offset skinnier wheel. Most eclipse owners with 18's rock 225's anyways, i just chose to do so on a 9.5. Wider wheel also helps the track width and "widens the tires" so to speak. For autocrosses I have a pair of 17x8 mustang gt wheels with 245/40/17 potenza re-01r's and the 225 on a 9.5 has the same treadwidth as the 245 on an 8. Gramlight 57c stripped the paint off.

What are the camber settings and are you going to track the car? If not I don't see the point in trying to stuff such wide wheels in there. My wheels look like that with the camber I run for track events but I'd never run that much for a daily driver.

What size tires are you using?

225/40/18 don't cover 9.5."

Look below and you'll see that I called it. I was just born with a gift.

I personally like it, props to somethign different. I think with a different hood, dark tint and wingless, it would look even better. Thanks man for pushing the envelope!

i think the hood kinda "goes" with the rims.
i dont see the wing.

a clean glossy fresh coat of paint an clear would put this car over the top on the ext. stock color, color matched everything= roof, wiper cowl, mirrors, fog light surround things.

Time for you to check before you start saying stuff like that. People have put 245's on a 12" wide wheel. My friend was running 215's on her 18x9 TE's.

I'd say the car is almost HELLA FLUSH approved...needs to be dropped to the point where the lip is on the edge of the fender.

looks very good...and yes...we all know that him running a 225 tire on a 9.5" rim and running a lot of negative camber is pointless and has no performance benefits, but i must say that shit looks mean!

Looks sweet and all but if you're running 18x9.5s then slap on some 265/30-18s on there. 225s is weaksauce. It wont tuck but it doesnt need to if you set it up right.

Also.. you're a manager at a tire shop and you are rocking toyo T1Rs? Seriously.. sell those and get some real rubber. T1Rs whine and squeal more than... uhh nvm but they have no grip whatsoever and just make a bunch of noise when you turn the wheel. Great for doing donuts and burnouts I suppose..

Clean car though.

I like the style of the rim but skinny tires on them looks like something a high school ricer would do.

LOL... ever been to a drift event?... some guys are stretching a 205 on a 10 inch rim. i wasnt a believer until i saw them do it .. they use something called a cheetah and blast the air in from the sidewall.

also the original poster... i personally love the way that looks. i never though that a rim that wide would fit on these cars. nice job
