I have my whole front subframe out to paint and what not before the new motor goes in. I want to order the full set of bushings from energy, it says it comes with some of the subframe bushings but Im pretty confused as to which ones are included. Im figuring the four from the rear portion (where the rear motor mount sets) that have fixed studs coming from the chassis are included, I count 6 bushings on that piece, and two more on the front section (where the front motor mount sits). Id like to replace all of them while they are out so I suppose what I need is pictures of which bushings are included so I can go to the stealer and order the rest. Unless someone knows of somewhere that sells poly bushings for the loose ends but I cant find any. Thanks in advance and sorry for the novel haha.

The bushings that you puchase from Energy Suspension is the crossmember that holds the suspension.I don't know of any bushings for the crossmember for the front under the core support.I was thinking of building an aluminum crossmember in the front under the core support. Does anybody have any ideas on the crossmember?

the crossmember that holds the suspension has six bushings alone not counting the control arm bushings and the power rack to crossmember bushings. Are you talking about making aluminum bushings or making the entire front crossmember out of aluminum?

I am thinking about making the entire crossmember out of aluminum.I don't have a plan yet on the crossmember, but i think it will work and save weight. The crossmember with the suspension has 4sets of bushings.

it has six bushings total not counting the control arms. I dont know that I would trust aluminum under the amount of stress that piece takes, maybe a tube frame type piece.. and for the amount of weight that youd be saving it would hardly be worth the effort.

I am pretty sure the suspension crossmember has 4 mounting points. I will check with the service manual to make sure. I am going to try to make an aluminum crossmember.I think it can work. It can be plenty strong and be lighter. I think BMW and Audi makes full frames out of aluminum. Lets see if it can work. I will kept you posted on the progress.

Yea def keep me posted, my front piece is pretty banged up. Audi and bmw do use aluminum frames but they are fully enclosed, which is something to think about when drawing up a game plan since the stocker is only two flat metals spot welded.
