First off, my car is not my daily driver, it is my toy that I drive on the weekends. As of right now I am still on the stock suspension. I want to find a susupension that I can use for autocross and rallycross. Also, a suspension that will handle good for when I go crusing on the back twisty roads(my favorite). I definitely want something with height adjustment for rallycross so I can jack up the car a little bit...but I also want to be able to lower it some for autocross or just cruising. At first I was going to get Konis and GC coilovers. Then it was Hotbits and now I have been looking into the K-Sport coilovers. I am willing to spend the money and do it right the first time but I just cant seem to find the right information on what to buy.

So, any advice???

Thanks.

I'm working with a new suspension company on some new budget coilover setups, should be out within a month or two.

Don't worry there will be an announcement and a review written on them as soon as they arrive.

We're still working on the upper camber plates, but I have a pretty good writeup on them somewhere in this forum along with a review of them in a few of my race write-ups.

You'd have to get ahold of Elvenhome21 to see what his stance is on producing these ATM, my setup is holding together pretty well so far. Hope to put some more miles on it this spring and summer.

If you want to do both you will need to get a set with stock body lengths...
this way you can lower the car and not be on the bump stops and raise the car and not be toping out the shocks which will cause you to lose traction...

Yes I am the US rebuilder and tuner of hotbits, but I have dynoed many shocks and can say that the hotbits parts have the largest and most consistent adjustment range of these lower cost racing dampers...

I have run them on my rally car for 2 seasons with no failures...

Larry,

I have decided to buy the Hotbits Coilovers within the next few months.

However, I don't know which ones to get, nor do I know what spring rates would be best for my goals. The only thing I do know is that I want adjustable camber plates up front and height adjustment. I would want the best possible setup for Rallycross conditions.

My car is completely gutted except for the front dash and doors. I would like a very firm suspension setup.

What advice can you give me before I make my purchase???

Thanks.

ease,

In a rally car or a rally cross car you don't wanna be stiff as a road race or auto-x setup... I like to run with a disconnected front sway bar and a stiffer rear spring rate... I currently a 315lbs front and a 247.5lbs rear... The numbers are odd as they are rated in n/mm not lbs per in... I have run higher rates and only lost grip on ruff surfaces... That being said the damper will provide most of the stiffness with the setup... If you want to run on both tarmac and gravel, sand or other loose stuff i recommend to tune on the softer side... there is more to be lost on a harder setup than is to be gained with a much stiffer one on grippy surfaces... One of biggest factors would be to run bars on tarmac and no bars or no front on gravel...
