I'm about to install the 2G Tokico Springs on my Eclipse. But before I did, I wanted to measure the height of the car. I got 27 1/4" all around on average. But I had to drive down my washboard dirt road to get to level paved surface. This isn't the first time I've noticed it... but I ususaly dodge holes and washboard areas. But when I drive over these bumps, both the passengerside and driverside sounds loose somewhere. Like a knocking sound. Its worst on the passenger side. What is this? I haven't tightened anything since I installed this new front suspension yet. But from the looks, nothing is loose! I wanna know what this could be so I can focus on that area while installing my tokico springs so I can get rid of this sound which scares me of something breaking.

I would just be very thurough when installing the new suspension. Just give everything a good visual inspection and a good shake-down to see if anything is loose.

I've done that.. I'm going to do it again... but I did that before I started installing the suspension and everything seemed a-ok!

Except the metal band that grips the boot on the CV joint on the inside (tranny side) of the axles seem to have broke...So the axle just comes apart... if you are taking things apart. But I dont think that would be the cause... unless its a lack in greese in those joints.

**edit** I just got everything together... springs are in... bolts are tight! and that noise seems to be louder. Its just a knocking sound. Not a clicking sound. Like a CV joint would make... I dont know... I need to get the car on a lift to jerk things around to see if anything is loose.

I had a knocking sound comming from the front of my car that took forever to track down. It ended up being my swaybar bushings and end links. When I replaced those it made my car handle alot better and quieted everything right up. So that could be something to check if you havent.

Ya my car is making the same noise also. I have heard of the bushings being a suspect, but its hard for me to concept that a bushing could cause so much knocking. But then again, you just never know! Seems to be a honest problem with these Eclipses.
