Passenger side wheel acts funny, but it's not a comedian.

So I had my car aligned a few months back and it was fine for awhile. After bit the left front tire would move slightly as if I had added some positive camber and the steering wheel would be off center (like I was turning right). When that started it also started to wear the outer edge of the tire as well. This does not happen all the time. Sometimes the wheel and tire are at there normal settings and the steering wheel is noce and straight. Then other times it does this weird thing. I pulled the wheel off and I could feel the lower control arm move a bit if I pushed it back and forth. This weekend I installed new poly bushing and ball joints in the control arm and hoped that fixed it. No dice.

What I am wondering is what would cause this to happen to only the passenger side wheel and tire. I don't mind replacing things but I don't want to just start throwing parts, and money, at it if they end up not working. The only thing I can think of would be the rack or possibly the out tierod ends but I looked at those and they seemed fine but I am not a suspension expert by any means.

Any help is appreciated.

Man, I don't know anything about 1g front suspensions.
I've done a ton of suspension work on my late 97 GST though.

If it were the rack, wouldn't it affect both sides?
Inner Tie Rod ends wasted?
I know when my tie rods were wasted, i got a ton of inner tire wear.
My suspenion would actually toe in under acceleration and scrub rubber off of my tires in no time.

Maybe it's the bushings that hold the rack to the suspension cross member that have worn out and allowed the rack to shift a little bit.

How's is the rest of your front suspension, ie., springs, struts, is everything "Toight"?

Good call I'll check that tonight.

Like a tiger.

All fairly new (less than 8K) AGX's, ground control's, and camber bolts. I will also look into the camber bolts as a cause but I doubt they are the problem.

My new GSX has Ingalls Camber kits installed up front, and something started creaking (sp).
I grabbed the upper control arm and I was able to move it around a little bit while making it creak (sp).
Apparently one has to trim the collars that Ingalls gives you just a little shy of them fitting flush with the mounting points under the 19mm nut.
Well, the nut actually bottomed out on the collar instead of the car's mounting point never actually tightening the control arm.

I was in the middle of porting my turbine housing, so I just took my carbide cutter and removed about a .1" fromt the collar, and all is good.
