quick and easy.. do lowering springs help/hurt traction in a FWD??

Lowering it just lower's the center of gravity of the car so better turning...if you want traction go with lsd from quaife, or sticky tires such as azenis' by falken or who ever you like...me personally I like Bridgestone potenza's, or nitto nto1's

You were halfway there.

Lowering lowers the CG. A lower CG means less weight transfer under all forms of acceleration. And rearward weight transfer kills FWD launches. So lowering is good for FWD.

Picking up where jtm left off, look for the stiffest spring weight possible for the rears in order to help with the weight transfer. I'm running a set of full coilovers, so i never really looked in what the different rates of lowering srpings available are, but do your homework. If there's one thing that I hate doing, it's modding twice. You can also do a search on anti-lift geomtry and see if you can't fab up your own kit..i know that's helped a few fwd dsmers so far. That said, the single most effective (and expensive) upgrade you can possibly do to increase traction is an lsd, nothing but great reviews on quiafe and kaaz (although my quiafe does make u-turns a little challenging). i've also heard of people having sucess with the inserts made my phantom grip and sbr but i cannot vouche(spelling?) for them personally but i know they are not as rough on the pockets :thumb: . aside from that look into a set of stickies, there's plenty to choose from depending on what exactly ## looking for (max grip vs. wet/dry, etc..) kuhmo mx's are one of my personal fav, not quite as sticky as the bfg kdw's im currently running but were about $120 cheaper for the set, performed very well, and have decent treadlife for a soft compund. good luck to u man..good to see other dsmer's who are trying to make thier fwd's hook instead of giving up and hopping on the awd bandwagon.
