I hear a creek when i go over a bump

I was driving around the other day and I went over a speed hump going bout 10 - 15 and I heard a creaking noise come from the back. I think its the shock not being lubricated. any thoughts?

Have you checked your ball joints lately? My car used to squeek like crazy until I put in new ball joints. My old ones were so shot that any more abuse could have knocked a wheel off.

Another thing that tends to squeek a lot in my car is the hatch cover, I forget the real name, but its the piece that lifts up with the hatch. The screws that hold the cardboard and apholstery to the metal bracing were really loose and that made a suprising amount of noise.

A quick search will reveal that this is often the swaybar bushings.
