Power Steering can't keep up?

I just installed my Megan Racing coilovers and took it for a drive. No matter how hard I jerked the car left and right really hard doing about 45 it just stayed flat and wouldnt let go...but I noticed that very quick motion of the steerign wheel causes the power steering to stop working somewhat. Like if I jerk the wheel really hard in a tight corner or to do a quick U turn, the power steering dies off when I move the wheel really fast. I have a really small steering wheel, so I can turn it very fast. Is this just a characteristic of hydraulic power steering systems, or is there something else wrong?

Thats hydraulic power steering for yah. It does suck bad. I wish there was some way to get electronic p/s. There is no cutout when turning. I drove an RX-8 and !!! the steering was sweet.

Yep, the electric powersteering on my ep is amazing! Well...it's ok.

I don't think this is typical 2g power steering cutout. It will do it regardless of RPM or load. Is it just a characteristic of these power steering systems?

Have you checked the basics? PS fluid. Leaks. Belt. Etc.

Also: If the problem only occurs when trying to turn from a given starting point, then that points at the rack. If it occurs no matter where you are starting from, then that points at the hydraulics.
