How can I lower my car without making it more bouncy???

My friend has an eibach lowering kit on his 3g Eclipse and the car is bouncy as hell. I want to lower my 2g as well but I don't want it to bounce around too much.

So, what can I do? Which spring should I get?

And did anybody ever purchase some of those adjustable springs from ebay which cost around $50? Are they a good buy?
 
Well if you have asked your self why would car bounce in the first place, you wouldn't blame just your springs for it. The shocks/struts are those who control how fast your suspension is going to move under the differnet loads.

Now you ask your self what do you want to do with your car. If you want it lower so it looks better, get a shorter and stiffer springs. If you want to cancel the bouncing get a good set of shocks that can control the movements. If you want your car to handle better, start with the shocks first. Then get your stiffer and lower springs after that. Or do both at the same time. But, you will not find adjustable springs out there since those do not exist.

Eibach prokits and tokico illuminas are a decent cheap combo. ($400-500).Looks great, handles well and adjustable.

GCs'/Konis If you have more.

Stay far far away from any cheap adjustable coilovers on ebay

The Tokico Illumina/Eibach Pro combo rides very comfortably on setting 2 and performs well in autocross on setting 5.
 
If you want to be lower than 2 inches and still have good ride quality you are going to spends some money. They are many decent spring kits available that will give your car the stance your looking for but you will need shocks and struts that are designed for lowered cars and have shorter shafts. Koni's are one of the best for lowering but they are pretty expensive. Also you have to consider your bump stops. You might consider cutting a couple inches off of them or you will slamming against them all day long. Whatever you decide just have a plan or goal in mind. How low and what type of set up and driving it is for, and then just do some research at all the different company sites.
 
The prokits lower 2g FWD cars the perfect amount aesthetically IMO. Around an 1.5 inch drop and like a two finger gap between wheel and fender.
 
Hmmm, ok so I'd have to get some shocks. But is there an cheaper alternative? I mean, the shocks cost more than the springs. The cheapest I've seen cost around $300 (front and rear).

I just want my car to be lowered and not bouncy and I don't want to spend $300+ for suspension upgrades. Are there any alternatives?
 
Well, you could get an used set from someone...

But, you have to get shocks no mater what. If you get shorter springs with the same rates, your car will be bottoming out every chance it gets. If you get a stiffer shorter springs than you need stronger shocks to control them.

Ride quality is based on wheel rate, weight, (ride frequency), wheel travel, damper tuning, stabars, wheel base, tires, seats, and your jigglyness.

You can tune a compromise.

That is the key word. compromise. handling, looks, ride quality, pot-hole durability, ground clearance, suspension geometry, and alignment are the aspects to trade off in your compromise.

If you drop real low, and use abrupt-entry jounce bumpers your ride will be choppy. If you cut your jounce bumpers :nono: you run the risk of spike loads into your wheel, suspension, and shock towers. lowering your car reduces jounce travel :(

I am running a 1.5" drop (non-linear spring rates), Tokico Illuminas, and long soft-entry jounce bumpers from a different vehicle (longer bumpers in rear than front; the rear has more length between upper mount and shock-can at curb loading condition).

Static alignment change due to the drop can be overcome relatively easy.
