You need to remove the 4 bolts from the bearing / hub assembly and generally get it pressed out. On a 2G the bearing / hub assembly is effectively one piece and is replaced together. It can be a real pain to remove one from the knuckle on a 2G without a press or an air hammer.

The bearing/hub assembly is one piece and is not serviceable.

Yea, its a complete sealed unit from auto parts stores for like $70-75. Its really not that hard to get the old bearing out, just pound on the back of it.

It does require removal of the spindle, but thats not too bad either if your car isn't all rusty down there.

well I know the parts store around my selles the bearing for 45 bucks and to get the whole assem. cost around 85 bucks do I figure why not get the right tools to get it out then I can do all of the bearings when they eventually go bad. so let me get this straight the spindal(the part that the axel goes into with all the teeth) has to come out with the bearing, right? so all I have to do is get it pressed out or an air hammer and pound it out from the stud side of the hub (if you were to look at the part on the car studs facing you)

thanks I want to try and do this tonight if you could respond asap
