Ok.. well while im driving i get those noise like to peices of metal on sliding against each other... I was told i needed new rotors and brakes.. Well i figurd might as well get crossed drilled and slotted. I was just curious if anyone had gotten or new anything about these i found on e-bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33564&item=7962257894&rd=1
any comments would be great thanks
p.s. why didnt they post a forum topic just straight 1.8's? no love

that metal noise you heard was probably the indicators on the brake pads letting you know the pads are shot.

dont have any experience with those rotors you posted. i got mine from machv.

From personal experiance I would suggest against getting drilled rotors, sloted are fine, a combination of the two is problems waiting to happen. In most cars like ours the rotors are to thin to support several holes being drilled in the cross section of the veins. Worst case your rotors will fracture and crack, I have seen this from personal experiance several times on a several different cars.

If you can find just slotted rotors great, the slots help remove gas and dust buildup caused by hard breaking. But really you do not need it on a daily driver unless you do some hardcore stopping on a regular basis.

i agree my cross drilled/slotted rotors warped and cracked withing 1000 miles.. :notgood:

I just got my drilled/slotted rotors along with my brake kit yesterday. I got the kit shown HERE The guy told me hes sold thousands of these kits and never heard a complaint so I'm crossing my fingers.

I have 13"x1.1" rotors (slotted/crossdrilled) and they seems very solid (till today), I'm not sure of what I'm saying but I've been told that some crossedrilled rotors are made like that and some are crossdrilled afterward, could it be that the difference why some are solid and others weaker ? (sorry for :sosad: bad english).

i started with powerstop drilled front and rear
during a routine brake inspection while i had it up on my lift i noticed that both front rotors had cracked around the holes
the rears were good to go
i replaced the front rotors with brembo slotted and drilled 5K ago and so far no cracks

I've heard the Powerslots aren't too reliable. I've got TPMs on mine, haven't had any probs. Recommended by the guys at SBR.

You get what you pay for! They can be cross drilled/ slotted but make sure it's from a reputable manufacturer like Brembo. I've been using power slots for over 4 years and no problems ever. Like "Nanan" said, unless your doing serious racing all you'll need are some slotted rotors, good pads, and some steel braided lines! :thumb:
