Anyone with the Stop Tech front brake upgrade (st-40 caliper, 328mm rotor) tested their performance in any way? Stopping distances, fade, rotor temps, caliper temps etc etc?

Of course wheels, pads, tires, brake fluid, suspension, and presence or lack of ABS will affect performance, but if anyone has objective info from before and after upgrade it would be helpful.

Also interested in subjective results, for example how is the pedal feel?

Likely later in the summer I'll get the stop tech's, mostly for fade resistance at the track, but I'd love to see shorter stopping distances.

Right now I have a 1G AWD w/ Kuhmo 225's, stock rotors, calipers, pads, lines, and generic brake fluid, and on the G-tech I can generate a max neg acceleration of 0.9G (haven't acutaly done a good 60 or 80 to zero). I read in some mag some time ago that the Evo VIII pulls about 1.1 neg G. With the infrared thermometer rotor temps after one stop from 80 are HOT AS HELL.

I have no experience with StopTech, but I do have a 13.1" 6-piston Wilwood setup that I would highly recommend. I got the directional vaned rotors with no slots/holes. I am also running the Wilwood 'E' pads.

I shopped around and liked what StopTech had to offer, but the price was prohibitive compared to what you get with Wilwood from TCE.

The stopping potential of my 1G is tremendous. I have experienced absolutely no fade at all. And last weekend, in my dreams of course, I ran on the top end with a 550+whp Stealth. After 4-5 runs from 70-150+ and then slowwing from 150+ down to about 60mph, I had no fade and an intense pedal feel. I could really hammer these brakes and balance on the edge of lock-up with these brakes.

I have yet to run an autocross with them, but I am quite confident they with handle whatever I throw at them no matter how many times.

talk to boostin4g63. Stoptechs are good... really good but i think they are a bit expensive
