Azenis Killer

Anybody tried last year the new "Azenis Killer" aka Z-212 from Hankook?
They are quite cheap in 17", as 110$ each for 225-45-17 and are rated, AA,A, 200

Pretty cheap for a set of 225/50/16s - $82 at tires.com

They look to have a lot of void space between the outer tread blocks and the center ribs... that wont help vs. the Azenis. If the tread compound is better (less greasey) then they may well be a good alternative.

I think I'll plan on running a set to see what I can get out of them.

The alternative was a set of Falken 451s. :/

I wanted a tire with a 200 treadwear, good price, good rigid sidewall, better in the rain than a Azenis an not greasy under hot lapping condition. I'm gonna try this one... And let you know.

From a good solo2 driver:"In the US last year, Hankook brought a few sets of Z212 to test on some WRX's. These guys were running the Azenis at the time and a comparision was due.
All of the guys commented that the dry traction was equal or better than the Azenis but the wet capabilities were superior. The best quality however , they said, was the ability to do multiple runs without having the tires overheat. (a major complaint from the ST class drivers of Azenis)

I know that we will see many people in CADL ST class run on these tires."

After my Advan A032R these cheap tires are going on the car...

For 99$ a piece for the 225-45-17, quite a deal.

Time will tell if it's better than an MX or the new RT-615.

Well since they discontinued 16" Falkens I'll be looking for these when the Falken's die.

looks good thanks for the heads up i remember when falken first came out they were cheap tires now they are getting expensive thanks for the new find.
