ive had my eclipse for about two years now and originaly it was stock then lowered with cheap springs. after moving to ohio and experiencing winter without traction i made the decision to go back to stock with original springs and oem shocks. now i have a slight problem with my front wheels the do one of these numbers \--/ not to that degree but you get the point plus ive noticed that the ride is just as rough as when it was lowered. im looking into a new setup i dont drag or do circuit racing im just looking for a nice set up and maybe an idea of whats wrong. thanks for you help.

What you have described is positive camber. When the car was lowered the owner may have compensated the lowering induced negative camber with a camber adjustment kit. When raised back up, the camber would end up too far positive. Just a guess but, you should get an alignment check ASAP.

I agree with wret's idea, but think that you should do some investigating before going for an alignment. I say this because I'd hate for you to pay $50 and have them not be able to fix it because of the parts that are on the car and the stock parts that are missing.

Lift one front corner and remove the wheel. Look at the upper ball joint. Is it relatively compact or is it large and adjustable? If it still looks small and plain (i.e., stock), the look at the pivots that hold in the inboard end of the upper A-arm. Are these plain, symmetrical, and centered on the hole in the A-arm or do they have a bolt on the bottom and stick farther than in, pushing the arm out relative to the stalk of the pivot?

Answering these will tell us how positive camber was added. Then we can talk about what parts to have on hand when you go for the alignment.

ok after heeding your advice i took of my front wheel and examind the points on the a arm and checked out the basic out lay of the suspension my assumption would be that its all original i didnt see any newer components and it all seemed to be evenly worn hinting that it was original. after that being said i did a little more research and apparently the springs that where reinstalled into the car where the stock springs from a gs-t eclipse insted of an rs/gs model i dont know if that would make a difference im guessing yes cause the difference in engine and front end layout. thats about all i know for now i appriciate your help.
also what i am thinking about is just saying screw it and replacing the spring and strut assembly completely, i want to lower the car a little bit and im guessing this would also take care of the problem ive been having. if you have any suggestions for a good set up for that i would be appriciative also.
