So far I'm feeling unfortunate to have the ABS system installed in my Talon. I know for a fact it's going to need modifying so that my datalogger won't keep it in diagnostic mode. I'm not sure I want the system on there...I honestly don't know alot about ABS because I never had to mess with it before. Should I dump it? If so, how do I do this without having to patch bypass several lines going into the ABS distribution block?

Any ideas? I really want to know about this one...
Whenever I go to a DSM meet in Columbus and someone new shows up, they see that unit next to my passenger shock tower and cringe stating "That must be a pain in the ass.."

Help?

I did it on a car with a friend. We didnt read anything about it or anything, so Im not sure if theres a specific procedure for it or anything...
We just simply followed the lines from the brakes that went into the controller and saw what ports they came out of. While the motor was out of the car it made it pretty easy. We bent up the lines and bought some adapters/fittings from Ace Hardware and connected them. There were a total of about 3 lines I think that ended up gettin trashed, the rest were rerouted and/or connected. If you can find any step by step procedures for this, i would like to see this as well. hope this helps a little...

I removed my entire ABS system and replaced 3 out of the 4 hard lines with new factory non-abs lines. The last one was no longer available, and ? I had to recycle one of the abs lines and bend it up to make it fit.

The replacement proportioning valve was the part number from a 93 non-abs car. The way CAPS made it look, all 1994 cars came with ABS. I wanted 93 or newer to gaurantee I got a proportioning valve from a big brake car.

It's much more pleasant to work on the car without that disaster under the hood. The main reason for it getting tossed was to make the FMIC piping fit better.

Thanks for the response!
I'm going to try and attempt this over the springtime when the car is disabled for painting. If i can make a step by step for it I'll submit it for VFAQ

Thanks again!

Thanks for the link. It still seems like a PITA. Some people would pay extra for ABS...I find myself paying to get rid of it. Ironic..isn't it?
