I've been searching for info on strut bars, and the ebay ones are said to flex and not do anything when it comes to rigidy, but it is also said that it doesn't matter if the bar flex's because the purpose for it is to keep the strut tower tops from seperating from each other on corners. As long as the bar doesn't snap, it should work fine. Example of the force applied <o----o> the o's are the top of the strut tower. Do you agree or disagree. Also I have access to welder and plan on pretensioning the bars (adjustable) and then welding, also may reinforce, has anybody done this to the cheapies. Thanks.

Cool idea. Unless, of course, you ever need to remove them. ;)

As to whether or not it matters if they are strong ... not really, because they are under tension when doing their job, as you said. However, the brackets must be able to take tension, too. The Pilot rear bars for a 2G, for example, have brackets that make them almost useless, because they can be stretched at will.

I wouldn't weld to car, I would just weld the bar joints, adjutable parts, or wherever possible. I still will have to see once I receive them. I ordered Toucan for the front and AutoBacs1 for the back, really cheap. I figured I could just get these one's and reiforce to save money. Maybe I will reiforce the brackets also somehow.

I understood what you were planning to do. Problem is, if you pre-tension the bars and weld the adjusters, then the end-plates will be binding against the threads on the bolts from the shocks' upper plates.

I C. Good point. I shouldn't really have to remove the rear but the front one could be a problem, since I will be putting a 6 bolt in.
