Tire Siping?

I just got my DSM yesterday and I am in the market for some new tires. I have heard good things about tire siping. Increased Traction, Longer tire life etc... But is tire siping a good thing to have for higher performance, lower profile tires? These are tires I will possibly drag race in. I need some input on what you guys may know from experience. Help me out.

siping is mostly for off-road and winter tires, basically it is giving you more leading edges to grip mud, dirt, and snow with. Doing it to a high performance tire would ruin the cornering ablity of the tire, if you want better traction at the strip buy some greendots.

Forget you heard the term, as it's too broad. "Siping" is any groove in a tire tread, although at an entirely arbitrary point, a "sipe" becomes a "groove". It's just semantics.

Smaller blocks will squirm more, larger ones will chunk. You need to find the Goldilocks size (not an issue until you get into extreme tire abuse).
