whats the largest tire for stock gst rim?

it's time for new tires, and I was wondering whats the widest size I can fit onto a set of stock 97 gst rims? I've used the search function and have come up with nothing on this topic. so if anyone can help me out that would be great.

i have seen 225/50/16 but its too wide for a 6" rim but it is possible. I just got stock size since 225's were to big and they werent many good 215's

Frankly, I think the stock width is too wide for the wheel.

Remember it's not so much the width of the tire it's the traction you get.

If you look at specs for specific tires, you can find some that list a 6" wheel as the minimum mounting width for some 225's. This would be a poor performance choice though and the appearance improvement is debatable.

For best performance stay with the stock size intil you get wider wheels.

225/50 is too wide, it'll work but it looks funny and wears un even.

Think about picking up a set of Probe wheels (or other 16x7 wheels). They fit 225's great.
