Just as the title says do they even make these things for dsms? 2g's in specific. I know most people are more concerned with straight line speed more so than turning so for those people, has anyone heard of traction bars for our cars? not the traingle things with little wheels that attach to the back of the car but a brace deal that attaches to the under side of the cr in the front to tie all the components tegther. Something like this http://www.full-race.com/crx_traction_bars.html

And now for the road race crowd, has anyone seen or heard of subframes being made for our cars? I have tried doing searches on numerous places but haven't come up with anything. All my domestic friends have them and the before and after difference in body flex and handling was enormous. Its like driving two seperate vehicles without the subframes and after the subframes it actually feels like a solid car. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

What? Of course AWD 2Gs have subframes. What do you think holds the rear diff to the unibody and acts as the inboard pick-up for the rear lower arms? And what else would you call the great wonking thing to which the front lower LCAs connect?

I agree, however, that we are not F-bodies and we don't need subframe connectors.

As to traction bars, there's been some really silly discussion lately about devices to keep the front wheels from moving longitudinally during hard acceleration. But, as I tried to explain then, 2Gs benefit from this movement, since it provides dynamic toe ... toe out under acceleration and toe in during braking.

Fearing a semantic fusilade, the factory name is "crossmember". Unlike other, lesser cars, they don't come halfway up the body structure. They tuck right there under the back and front. But I don't have an issue if you want to call them subframes. I just don't see them as working the same way, nor to the same extent as what I think of in relation to the term. :thumb:

Cool. Who cares what we call them as long as we agree that (a) there are great wonking things bolted to the unibody that hold the lower halves of the suspension and (b) it would do little good to link the front and rear ones together.

toe MAH toe ... tah MAY toe
